Registered Nurse

Job Description

Provides highly skilled, compassionate and professional nursing care within the Emergency Department, Acute/Swing Bed, and Outpatient care setting; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of quality patient care. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient’s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. 

Job Responsibility

• Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients in the unit
• Initiates and implements patient care plan
• Makes nursing assignments appropriate to skill level of employees
• Maintains acceptable standards of patient care
• Identifies problems and guides personnel to their solutions
• Accurate and promptly implements physician's orders
• Administers medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly
• Maintains the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting
• Arranges to have needed supplies and equipment on hand
• Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures
• Keeps the CNO informed of patients, needs, and problems in the nursing unit

Job Requirements

• Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift at least 50 pounds
• Willing to work varied shifts and weekends as needed
• Must be COVID Vaccinated
• Resourceful and calm in emergencies
Observes and supports hospital policy
• Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel
Cooperates with and maintains good rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, other departments as visitors

Skills & Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• State of Idaho RN license 
• One or more years of RN experience in Acute/ED preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification, if you do not have education courses will be provided
Computer skills
• Positive supportive/coaching approach to co-workers
Ability to deal positively in stressful situations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• State of Idaho RN license 
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification, if you do not have education courses will be provided
